Down from Mahabaleshwar

I stayed at the Hotel Kolpana for a couple of nights, enjoying a rest day. The hotel sported a couple of signs: MINI DELUX SUITS ONSIDE and, a little more ambiguously, WHERE LIVING COMFORTS END!

Mahabaleshwar was quite spooky at night, with mist swirling around and the beams of streetlights cutting through it. I wouldn't have been surprised to bump into Sherlock Holmes.

After a day's rest, it felt good to be back on the road again and pleasant to be able to reap some benefit from the long climb up to Mahabaleshwar - for almost 25 kilometres it was steep downhill.
